The Shoosty Gallery highlights the creative work of Stephen Shooster.
Stephen Shooster aka "Shoosty", earned his degree from the University of Florida in Fine Arts, with a major in painting and a minor in Architecture. Upon graduation he entered the family business as a technician and slowly became a leader guiding the industry with a patent in Computer Telephony Integration to the Internet. Always the creative in business he reinforces this spark with a daily routine of painting taking time to ponder new composition.
Asking him why he paints he states "The act of painting is like a yoga exercise where freedom of expression has few limits reinforcing the natural instincts of a creative mind".
His latest work is about the Co-Evolution of Art and Music. "Music and Art have always evolved together as Artists listen to music and Musicians are affected by the visual world. Both musicians and artists like to work together as they have a penchant for focusing on enhancing their craft, dreaming and doing things "for the ages". Just as you find impressionism in Art you find the same in Music. In fact every genre of Visual Art has an associated genre in music.
Shoosty revels in technology. He was an early adapter to Acrylics from Oils and more recently to Watercolor Pencils. All of his work has an underlying technical craftsmanship. Currently, he has been exploring the use of Pen and Ink mixed with Watercolors then digitally scanned, worked in Photoshop and Illustrator then printed on an HP Z6100ps wide format printer. The result is framed and then painted in Acrylic. He is meticulous in his approach handling all the technical tasks on his own. The result is a large-scale colorful voice that fills the room stunning compositions. Something you look at with your eyes and "See" with your imagination.
