I See Within Me a World Where I'm Free

I See Within Me a World Where I'm Free
by Forrest Shooster on Wednesday, August 11, 2010 at 12:07am

As all my friends can plainly see,

There are a lot of parts that make up me,

Among them a future I cannot foresee.

I'm sure many wouldn't hesitate to agree.

__

Among the trees,

Wherever I'm free,

There is something I like to be.

Its me, you see. 'Me' I'll be, so long as I remain free.

By my decree,

It cannot be,

A world where it seems,

I am not free.

Shackles and screens,

That's not where I'll be,

For I See Within Me

A World Where I'm Free.

The Sky

If I wrote this as a song I'd add in this next,
"I'm Free,
You'll see,
Chaining me,
Is not so easy.

If you were me,
You would see,
The reason
Why I am free.

Turn to me,
Talk to me,
Follow me,
Lead me.

Teach to me,
Learn from me,
Maybe then you'll see what I can see.
Yeah!
FREEDOM!
Yeah! Yeah! Yeah! Yeah!
Maybe then you'll see what I can see.

Forest's Poem

Forrest is a Book

Forrest is a book.
His language is sometimes difficult and complex.
He is only understood by a few.
His words sometimes ramble on from one to the next.
His cover may be hard,
but the pages within are soft as silk.
If someone tries hard enough,
they may understand him.

He was but one of many,
sitting amongst millions,
waiting for someone to check him out.
It was lonely when not selected.
He hoped to be read without hesitation or doubt.
He hoped to be understood both inside and out.

Some have given him what he has needed,
so that he could stay in good condition.
They have respected him.
They have taken care of him.
They have protected him from mishandling.
In the past he had been read by very few.

Recently, some have decided to delve beneath the cover.
They've been intrigued by the opportunity.
Many mysteries have been uncovered while his story has unfolded.
Some have discovered what is inside.
So much information has been revealed from deep within.
Those who have read him have encouraged others to do so as well.
